I’m Jeremy Tarkington, a Tier 3 systems and security engineer at an MSP in Louisiana. Most of my week is incident response, escalations, and keeping other people’s infrastructure standing up. The rest of it goes into a homelab I run across two servers, a set of security tools I’ve built and released, and writing.
The writing started because the work kept producing things worth saying and nowhere to say them. A phishing campaign that was cleverer than it had any right to be. A backup system that reported success for months while producing nothing recoverable. The gap between what vendors say a product does and what it does at 2am on a Sunday.
I write about threats, tooling, AI, and the industry usually from the practitioner side rather than the analyst side. If a piece explains how something breaks, it’s generally because I watched it break.
